Sahraa and her snowboots

Since the salt and chemicals on the street in winter bother Sahraa's feet so much, to the point of obvious pain, we thought we'd try boots, knowing that they wouldn't go over well.

She hated them and wouldn't go on her walk wearing just two of the four, so they aren't going to work.

In general, digitigrade or plantigrade animals have "sophisticated sensors" under their paws which inform them, without having to look at each of their limbs, front or stern, that they are touching the ground, and what type of soil it is. This is why, when we put them in "boots" that touch their pads under the paws, they believe that they are constantly on the ground. Pretty confusing isn't it? Trust him Sahraa, you are really in good hands.

Snow boots and a camera - her least loved things but at least she couldn't run away. Poor baby :-( Great capture of the expression on her face!
