Pühitsa Convent, Dormition Cathedral

The Russian Orthodox Pühitsa Convent in Kuremäe was founded in 1891 and today hosts 150 nuns. There are six churches on the grounds, the most prominent of which is the Dormition Cathedral (1910). Like Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Tallinn, it was undergoing renovation. I just had to laugh; that just seemed to be my luck on this trip!

Bad luck on the scaffolding, Helen, but what a brilliant building.
A crisp and well-taken shot nonetheless. *V*
