We decided to take a 10-day tour of the Baltic States with a ferry trip for two days in Helsinki. I've always wanted to visit these countries but wasn't prepared for how wonderful they really are. Tallinn is a perfectly preserved medieval town; Helsinki is a marvelous city with a lively urban scene centered around the water; Riga was a real surprise, with the most remarkable collection of Art Nouveau architecture I've ever seen; and Vilnius is a relaxed and friendly city with a very picturesque and interesting old town. These places were just so very photogenic, it will take a long time to sort out and process all the many photographs I took while there!
