Kiek-in-de-Kök (1475)

This was one of the most powerful cannon towers in Northern Europe in the 16th century and was the main bastion of Toompea Hill. The Low German name means "to peek into the kitchen," ostensibly to mean that defenders had a good vantage point over the enemy, but some thought it referred to soldiers looking into people's homes below it.
