Waterfront, Motława River

This crane, the icon of Gdańsk, was built in the 14th century and renovated in 1442-4. It combined the functions of a city gate and port crane and was powered by men working huge treadmills inside. It was capable of lifting up to 2 tons to a height of 27 meters (90 feet) and could also fit masts to ships. It is situated on the Motława River.

Great shot of the hustle and bustle along the river front. The tower looks overpowering, but it has lover red tiles. V

A strong composition with this perspective and well chosen vantage point. Lots of interesting details here, including the vintage Coke sign in Polish. "V"
