Fertőszéplak, Széchenyi Castle

Fertőszéplak, Széchenyi Castle

This is where Count Ferenc Széchenyi, the father of the famous István Széchenyi, was born, in 1754. We really stumbled across this by accident; there was a lot in front so we parked the car there to go across the street to see the church. Then we discovered we had parked in a famous place. There is no end of surprises in these small Hungarian towns.

Well done! The graceful lines of the tree really compliment the severe lines in the building behind. Great colors...
