Young Merlins, having just left their nest high up in a Pine tree, are perched on a branch in a near-by Spruce tree. It seems that the one takes objection to my presence. The young were actually up quite high in the tree and had just been fed as evidenced from traces of blood that can be seen on some of the shots I took. They are flying short distances from branch-to-branch or to adjacent trees. The skies were very overcast; hence, the light was poor.
