Great photos, wie immer! I think I like the darker (black) frame better around your beautiful photos, but maybe that is just me.

Your stained glass windows you posted on the Pbase forum are beautiful...tried to find the gallery that they were in. Like the biking shots...I used to cycle a lot, and did a cross country trip. Last major trip was from Washington down to the SF Bay Area.

Hi Markus,

About the photo you commented in my B/W ARGENTIC gallery (here:http://www.pbase.com/alain_lestrade/bw_argentic): it doesn' refer to Starwars but it's an underground vue: a lift platform coming down into a 100m depth shaft for a hydro-electric dam project (I was at the far bottom). The last one of the gallery comes too, from that project: a vue inside a (quasi-horizontal) tunnel when installing the shielding tubes (2.5m diameter). Memories,memories...

Thanks for having visited my gallery.

Alain.

Thanks Marcus on your reply.
Early morning now. I will if its ok with you reply more on your letter to me on how the
Catholic church preserved the bible.

PS Got great pics on your site. Like the one with the girl levitating by the creek.
Guest 21-Oct-2005 14:15
I think you have a few pictures in each gallery of real strength! However some pictures of lesser strength tend to pull down the overall quality of your galleries. I really enjoyed your experimentation with different techniques! young at heart, enjoy thou art!

cheers!

Hi Markus -- Thanks for your comment on http://www.pbase.com/image/37325158 . I'll post the original if I ever find it!
Markus Grompe29-Dec-2004 18:10
Hi Ken,

regarding the color tones in web-images. I have found that the web-browser and the magnification make a difference. That is: if you look a the pictures in "original" magnification (there is a button beneath each pic), they look much better than at "large" or "medium". Similarly, the images look shitty in the AOL browser, best in Safari. So, it may not be what you are doing to the pictures before submitting them...

Hi Markus,

Thanks for your remarks. I am visiting my parents over the holidays and my mom is a docent at the Hirshhorn museum at the Smithsonian and I showed her your pallettes gallery and she really loved it. Finally have the time to set up a few galleries myself, though taking time to work out the tonal bugs despite sRGB. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'd love to visit a few of those Christkindlmarkts and stand around on a cold evening drinking Glühwein! (I am sooo partial to Bavaria.) Thanks for the wonderful holiday images.

Thanks for the note. Ferry Falls can be seen on the Eagle Creek Hike, on the upper part of the walk (about 4 miles from the trail head). Its across the canyon, so it is hard to get close to. I took that picture with a telefoto lens.

Cheers,

markus
Zhongya Wang 30-Oct-2004 19:17
Great work, especially the chamaleon picture and pacific_nw gallery!
Could you tell where is the ferry falls? It seems attractive! I wanna to enjoy that!
Thanks a lot!
Roberto 27-Oct-2004 17:49
I enjoyed your pictures and Markusian titles. Those "cute" fuzzy cacti can be deceiving...Aubrey touched one and played with its barbed needle until she had about nine in her fingers. Here I was trying to show her the beauty of the desert, but she got a little too close. I'll show her your pictures and gauge her reaction...I'm sure she'll smile.
Brien 20-Oct-2004 19:42
Markus, your pictures are awsome!! Thanks for sharing.

Hallo Markus

Great Photos Marcus! The scenery ones are beautiful but, like my mom, I love to see the people pictures. It's nice to see what you've all been up to since we don't get to meet up in person too often. Keep sending the updates, they're fun to get. Love, Adele

The artist in you is really showing! I like the explorations of the mundane (all macro shots and the dishwater series). Sehr gut gemacht!

Len Levy 18-Aug-2004 16:59
Wow, great pictures. Please add more. I may never get to these places, so it's fun to take a break at work, look at some pictures, and daydream. Thanks, Len Levy
