Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu (தமிழ் நாடு) - "Country of the Tamils", is the southern most state of the Indian Subcontinent. Its capital is Chennai (சென்னை) formally Madras. The language Tamil (தமிழ்), is the only Ancient language in the world (other than Chinese) most widely spoken even today. Tamil Nadu is considered the cradle of Dravidian culture, which is speckled all through the state in forms of magnificent and marvellous temples (many of them dating back more than a millennia), gateways and intricate carvings.
