shining a light

Antelope Canyon, Arizona

the #metoo movement has certainly shone a light on reprehensible behaviour by a number of Hollywood personalities, and encouraged more victims to speak out...it is shocking, and disappointing too, particularly when names like Morgan Freeman, today, come up and shatter illusions about respected actors...harrowing as well to learn about what women have been going through for decades...you have to wonder why the lack of respect for another person's rights just because of their gender

A fantastic image. Good words too about light being shed on shattered illusions.

A beautiful shot and a strong and accurate commentary. We were most disappointed by the allegations against Charlie Rose who we used to watch almost daily. Great that some women can get a bit of justice, if that is what you can call it. No one should be able to abuse and demean just because the have fame and power.

That is indeed sad to hear about. Funny that now I am getting my news first from PBase - I knew nothing about it until I read your post. Back to the picture - I remember this day so well. The calm of the picture belies the hectic insanity under which it was captured. Great composition. ~V~

It happens because men of accomplishments think they are above what other men would do and think THEY CAN. Nice shot, by the way."V"

A neat shot of this wonderful location and the column of light makes it even more special. Your commentary hits the target as well.

Brilliant spotlight with sufficient scatter to illuminate the beautiful rock formations around it. It looks to be shot perfectly.
