contort

Death Valley, California

another stretch of valley floor near Badwater Basin...the terrain is in upheaval at Devil's Golf Course, so photogs must contort themselves to adapt....Sam's backpack served not just for support though...the salt crystals can be very sharp

Nicely captured. Not quite sure it was worth the effort, but one never knows unless they try. It would have been easy for all of us to pass on this because of the sharpness of those salt/mineral formations.

Great shot of a hard at work photographer. V

Anything for the shot but I would be trying the same thing if given the opportunity. The composition really works so well and I can only image the image Sam captured with the glass sphere. A wonderful image of what will be a fantastic memory. Voted

If I did that there is a pretty good chance my bones would still be there.
Dan Greenberg30-Jan-2016 20:25
All I can say now is what I thought then - Ouch! I am still amazed he did this considering how hard and sharp those salt mounds were.
Helen Betts30-Jan-2016 19:33
That is some serious photo-taking! Great capture, and I image Sam's was too.
Carol How30-Jan-2016 19:20
Great capture David…that landscape looks so rugged and Sam is obviously undaunted by it. V

Well shot, David. I'm too old for these contortions. :)

It is not always comfortable when you have to have the right angle of the composition. Great shot. V
