Working on a skyscraper

Mornington Sanctuary WA

These worker Spinifex termites (Nasutitermes triodiae) are busy forming soil, excrement and vomitus into a new home extension.
The pointy-headed soldiers are standing guard ready to squirt any pesky ant with a jet of chemicals that will make it think twice
about coming back- no mean feat from an insect that is entirely blind.
