Bell Rock Sunset

Most images of Bell Rock in Sedona are taken from the south side, as viewed from there it looks more like a bell than the north side seen here. Actually Bell Rock is found in the Village of Oak Creek, which is located in the Southern part of Sedona, vs Oak Creek Canyon - which is located in the northern part of Sedona. After three or four visits you sort of understand it.

Wow, this is such a great image. The wood, the cactus and plants and the sunlight hitting the top of Bell Rock. Fantastic job creating this image.

I like the lines in your picture a lot! By your use of saturation it almost looks surreal. I like the effect by this a lot! V

Very nice. I find Bell Rock a hard place to find decent foregrounds. You did a good job here.

Yes, an excellent image in an outstanding gallery. Your handling of colour makes the images somehow surreal - adding to them rather than detracting.

No this is one shot as is. Went back this year and the "tree" was all broken up into many pieces. The light on the top of Bell Rock was very warm and the shadows were very cold. I did have to work the raw file kinda hard to get rid of a fairly contrasty shot even tho I used a number 4 ND filter on the sky as well as a polaroid filter.
Guest 23-Mar-2005 20:27
wow, very striking image ... is it made of more than one shot?
the colours are kinda crazy! but it works! excellent stuff

How wonderful. This image is gorgeous. I'm sure you know, but it just inspires. your other galleries are outstanding also. I will sure put your name up on my favorite artists. This has to be seen more often. The New Hampshire Gallery is a beauty also. My vote goes for this too
