Emilio Scotto - The Black Princess II (#3) For Sale

2007, Honda Gold Wing 1800 "Sport", Limited Collection.
Color: Black
Miles: 2245
Owned and designed by Emilio Scotto –record holder in the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Longest Journey Around the World on a Motorcycle”. Grand Marshal Honda Hoot 2004.

Our objective was to create a new GL 1800 persona with modifications that will set the bike apart from the rest of the motorcycling world. Instead of adding new components we strategically removed parts and optimized everything else. The result is a Gold Wing that rides on the cutting-edge of motorcycle design with a very distinct personality.

THE BIRTH OF THE GL 1800 Sport.
The overall goal was to give the GL 1800 more sporty and youngster looking by cleaning up lines and details to give it almost a Euro kind look, for something of a worldwide flavor, with much more sporting profile and feel. We wanted to show off this gorgeous engine and let more mechanical pieces shine through, which would renew the mechanical element, the motorcycle nature, if you will. We wanted to put this industrial look on display, not keep it hidden away behind plastics.

FRONT AND REAR FENDERS: We began by giving the bike a lighter, simpler look by reducing the front and rear fenders, and drastically carving away the front fender to give it a distinctly sporty look.

BRAKES: We further reinforced the sport theme by showing off more of the front dual disc brakes.

RADIATORS: A flat-black finish on the side-mounted radiators allows them to fade into the background rather than draw attention.

HEADLIGHTS: We noticed that the headlights are almost the same kind as the Chevy Impalas, which are painted in black. So, we figured out a way to split the headlights open and take the pieces out, and we did a black porcelain treatment on several number of shiny elements, to give the GL more of a stealth look. When the light is turn on it didn't affect their operation at all.

WINDSHIELD: To give the new GL a slimmer profile, we trimmed down the windshield dramatically and gave it a rounded shape. At high speed this change could compromise some rider comfort due to the increased windblast, but the cut-down windshield can still be raised about four to five inches by using the stock height-adjustment system, given back to the driver enough protection and comfort against the windblast.

TOP TRUNK AND PASSENGER SEAT BACK PAD: To extend this low-profile concept to the back end, we removed the support in the lid of the top trunk and lowered the passenger seat’s back pad as well. This was the most difficult, complicated and dangerous part of the project, as we have to mate fiberglass with ABS plastic. For aesthetic purposes, this trim-job is the one that drastically alter the lines of the bike, given to her that amazing smooth, European visual lock.

ANTENNA: By installing an amplified antenna inside the trunk we could eliminate the tall whip antenna, another change to clean up the bike’s lines.

FRAME: We blacked out the main frame and the swing arm pivot area.

MUFFLERS: We removed the rectangular factory mufflers and installed the rounded one-off slip-on special design COBRA mufflers, which give this GL a more sporting look and a distinctive robust sound. This "Tri Oval Performance Mufflers" retain the factory-issue catalytic converters for performance/emissions considerations.

HEAD PIPES: As the six individual head pipes, which are normally covered up, are now visible we give them a porcelain silver treatment, which looks much better than chrome and never became blue. WHEELS: We hand polished the wheels and then new painted to give more of stainless steal lock. We also hand painted with a darker color inside the rays.

HONDA LOGOS: We removed all Honda signs and replaced by our own design stickers under the paint, more smooth and delicate.

ENGINE GUARDS, PASSENGER FOOT PEGS, and VALVES COVER: After making the more substantial changes, we added a number of small touches, many of which are quite subtle. Some of these changes include the engine guards, which feature a tough, black Power Coating color. We add comfort lather grips, to.
The end result of these thoughtful ministrations creates a Gold Wing that will certainly stand out in a crowd. This stunning motorcycle exudes a serious traveler’s attitude in a stealthy, businesslike way.

Notable modification to this vehicle: $ 8,800 was invested to transform a factory wing in the beautiful Black Princess Sport wing.
Finally, here is your opportunity to have a distinctive GL 1800, with custom features details and aesthetic touches to delight your heart.
