St.Michell Abbey in Sunset

Here is an example of work with multiple layers ( 2 for abbey and 3 for skies ) and gradients. Some radiance filters, ( in very minor scale ) were used to create realistic blend between the skies and the abbey. All those damn tourists and bunch of decorated busses were taken away. This is what might happen when you mix Mexican skies with French landmarks, yet I am sure this would not be noticeable if I did not tell this :-)

Very nice, and yes, I recognized the sky as Mexican right away! (In super zoom I could see the Corona lable on the beach).

Jesas, these fellas really give me a hard time :-) ! Not sure if I can recover, but might offer something else like http://www.pbase.com/eldarrio/image/51096755 . Is this any better or still disaster :-) ?

I like this work, Eldar. Your blending is nearly flawless but your selection of elements to use is faulted. {1} The shadows on the buildings show the direction of lighting and most of your clouds are lighted from a different direction.... not possible. {2} The view through the bell tower shows white, not the coloured clouds that should be there. {3} These particular cloud types are pretty much impossible to have occuring at the same time. {4} Sky colour should appear lighter than its reflection on water. {5} The sun is far too high in the sky to call it sunset. {6} There is a blending problem between the Abby roof and the clouds, just left and adjacent to the bell tower. {7} There is an area of cloud [ middle right, above right-most buildings ] that looks "wrong", as if it has been altered.
Having said all of that, I admire you skill. I'm hopeless with such work. Those that can, do and those that can't, critize; isn't that the saying?
And I enjoy your galleries.
Ralph.
