1/2/10 - June 2004 Viewers' Choice (Memorability: High (score: 0.785 ) Pop:3.408)

Month #2 - Retrospective of Daily Photos posted from 5/04 to 12/09 (most viewers for the month)

6/04 - Although I've had a D-SLR for a month at this point, I'm still leaning on my Coolpix 5700 as a crutch and feeling my way learning to use the Nikon D70. Since I bought a macro lens with the D70 it puzzles me that I must have been able to do better with the P&S for this image. Can't remember exactly what was going on there. Oh well.

You can see by the first two images in this ongoing series that I liked doing macros - and was trying to learn to do arty abstract images like this one that I called "Take the Orange Line" (and not "Out of Focus Daffodil" as a judge might). I was also thinking about *composition*; in this case the placement and orientation of the orange line (on an oblique). And - this is early in my understanding that monochromatic images without an obvious identifiable subject can be beautiful (even if the typical camera club judge feels otherwise).
