The magnificent dome ceiling at the Galeries Lafayette. At 18mm, the lens on my APS-sensor
camera (1.5x crop factor) could not capture the entire ceiling. This is clearly a case where
a true ultrawide or fisheye lens could come in handy!
IF YOU GO: The Galeries Lafayette is basically a big department store. The floor plan is laid
out such that you probably can't find a good shooting position from the bottom floor. For that
reason you'll probably need to go up to the 2nd floor and find an open spot where you can actually
look up and see the ceiling. Remember that this is an actual store, not a public tourist venue, so
please be respectful of personnel and the facilities, lest we all be excluded from taking photos!
