The Reading Railroad was an anthracite hauler in eastern Pennsylvania. In the last year or two of the 1950s and
well into the 1960s, the railroad ran excursion trains using the last few steam engines they had stored serviceable.
The "Iron Horse Rambles" carried as many as 1100 or 1200 passengers, some using two of these 400 ton class T1 4-8-4s.
