After Ray's very perceptive comment I thought I add a bit of background to this picture.
Meow had had a scare in the sea that day and was dragged under the waves. She had to call for help and was pulled to safety (while I sat and read my book completely unaware).
I shot this the same evening with the waves breaking just to her left in the darkness.
She was genuinely scared walking along the beach that night.
She was fine after getting back in the sea the following day but I didnt let her out of my sight!
