A notice indicates the Zeus temple is from the time of the kingdom of Olba. The Romans separated that from their later Caesarea.
The temple was built in the 3rd century BC by Seleucos I Nikator and probably is the earliest Corinthian temple in Anatolia. In the 5th century AD it was turned into a basilica.
