From Tripoli, Roman, end 2nd century AD. Phaedra and Hyppolitus. The latter did not answer the love of Phaedra, who then caused his downfall (related in several legends).
Phaedra is the seated figure to the left, servants are waiting to hear the answer of the standing Hyppolytus. A small Eros is seen at the feet of Phaedra touching her knees.
