Bursa Koca Naip Mosque dec 2007 1403.jpg

Koca Naip Mahmut built this mosque in the first half of the 16th century according to information I found on the web. It is curious in having a raised front. Also its minaret is special, still having a few tiles that are original.

On the picture: The east wall of the prayer hall, which is covered by a dome.
The mosque has a square prayer hall (6,15 x 6,15 m), which is preceded on the north side by a porch, 6,2 m wide and 3,8 m deep (these are the inside dimensions; the outside measures 9 x 13 m).
The construction method, using alternating stone and brick to obtain striking decorative effects, was inherited from the Byzantines.

A grave in its garden is called "Three maidens grave".
