Bursa Koca Naip Mosque dec 2007 1402.jpg

Koca Naip Mahmut built this mosque in the first half of the 16th century according to information I found on the web. It is curious in having a raised front. Also its minaret is special, still having a few tiles that are original.

The mosque has a square prayer hall (6,15 x 6,15 m), which is preceded on the north side by a porch, 6,2 m wide and 3,8 m deep (these are the inside dimensions; the outside measures 9 x 13 m).
The prayer hall is covered by a dome, while the porch has a tall facade that hides the prayer hall and its dome, if you are standing in front of it.
Such porches-with-raised-front, which are open on their north side only (and generally having three arches) are not uncommon in the Ottoman architecture of the 15th and 16th century; in Bursa alone, at least eight other middle-sized mosques have the same striking characteristic.

A grave in its garden is called "Three maidens grave".
