Icon of St. Eudokia (upper half). Byzantine, 11th century.
Inlaid marble. Width 28 cm. Height 66 cm (the whole icon).
From the Fenari Isa Mosque (Istanbul), former church of the Lips Monastery (Greek: Μονή του Λιβός).
St. Eudokia, hands raised in prayer, is shown in imperial status, wearing a robe and a headdress in the form of a throne. Her name is inscribed on either side of her head.
