Across the street there is this mosque. It looked like a church and given its orientation, built along an east-west axis, with the facade in the west, it must have been a church before it was converted to a mosque.

there is a small school back of this building. It is my first school where my education was started. Thanks Dick, all the pics were great, you did a great job.

It was the church of the Greek community, fuctioning after 1923 as a mosque. It has the characteristic architecture of post-byzantines basilicas common in Asia Minor and in the islands of Eastern Greece opposite to Turkey
