This mosque, the Yağ Camii (Yağ is butter, written with a special sign I can't print; so: Butter Mosque) is partly constructed from a church from the Middle Ages.
When I revisited the complex in September 2006 I found it had been restored to an almost brand new appearance. Time will add its patina in due course.
This man was the keeper of the keys, or at least he's the one who let me in. He was rightly proud of the building in his care. One of my viewers made a print of the picture and gave it to him, I thank that viewer a lot for his kindness.
