This is the grave monument for Çoban Baba (Kutluca). Çoban Baba (Shepherd Father) is said to have found the grave of Seyyid Battal Gazi. He is also known as Kutluca Baba, and there are many legends about his identity. According to a legend, seeing a miraculous light in the place where he was herding sheep, Çoban Baba informed Ümmühan Hatun that this was the grave of Battal Gazi.

This grave monument was probably rebuilt or re-shaped by the Ottomans around 1500.
