Whitetail Deer in WV ~ 2009

I took this photo of Mee Maw on 1/29/09, and am adding it here since she has been a special part of our lives since we moved here in 2001.

It was taken two days before my last upload to pbase and less than a week before our lives forever changed.
Within a week we lost our natural gas for over 24 hours. It is our only source of heat, and the temps were below zero.
We made it through the event, but it took a tremendous toll on Frank's health. Within a month we learned that he had three small arteries that were blocked.
They were too small for a stent to be safely inserted. We are both adjusting to a new lifestyle and newly found perspective of life.

Since then our life has been hectic...full of adjustments, new projects, and mixed blessings.
We are both still around and praying for a non-eventful winter this year...beyond the winter storm that happened on Dec 19th that gave us a foot of snow.

I will be adding one more 2009 deer gallery. The horrible mast production this year has significantly increased the visitors to our wildlife barnyard.
