Plumbago Blue

Leptotes plinius, Lycaenidae
Herberton, north-east Queensland

As the common name suggests, caterpillars of this butterfly feed on species of Plumbago, consuming buds and flowers.
(But in this photo the adult is nectaring at the flowers of Micromelum minutum.)
Also known as the Zebra Blue for obvious reasons.

The pattern is quite something, so intricate and beautiful. Easy to see why they've also been given the name Zebra Blue. V
