The missile in the middle was a Lacross which started as a USMC project but they eventually lost interest. The Army persisted, deploying it despot it still being in development. The system was hopelessly susceptible to electronic counter measures and was soon withdrawn from service.

I remember as a youngster when Opa-Locka Airport was used as a military base; and me and my brothers use to sit out in the yard and watch the military aircraft fly over. We loved it when we saw the C119 Flying Box Cars go over. Of course later we got to watch the jets.

I CAN't believe I found this site,love it. I grew up in Opa-Locka in the 50'-60's and these images I remember very well, Thanks Don for the memories.
