2007 - construction of the new Intermodal Center east of Miami International Airport
Miami, Florida
This massive project involved the purchase and demolition of all the motels, restaurants and warehouses just east of the airport and LeJeune Road. The building will provide intermodal transportation options for the public and house all of the airport's rental car agencies in one facility.
AY, ay, ay. Spent many a night at the old Crossway listening to The Impact of Brass.

Took me a while to realize we're looking south towards 20th St, which runs left-right, with LeJeune running up-down. This intermodal project extends all the way south to SR836, all the businesses on the west side of LeJeune were razed (the Crossway Hotel which used to have the Airport bowling lanes in the back, HoJo, the car rentals, the office buildings, the old Lum's (which for a while was a Playboy Club), etc. Just off the picture towards the bottom right was Denny's (one of the few all-night munchies stop) and the Cockpit Lounge which has been gone for a few years now. Some of these hotels and lounges in the area had nice complimentary happy hour buffets which have been known to represent free dinners for overworked airport employees.
