Oops... I'm wrong. Never mind that!

Based on the look of the structures at that intersection today, I'd say that building was on the NW corner... Now going by Slashers Printing Center, I believe.

The awning at the back corner of Filers was the entrance to Reddish's barber shop .Had my hair cut there from the late 40's till the early 50's .

Okay, if someone named Hilsenbeck says it was on the southwest corner after Kinseeker says so then it has to be right and I have changed the description. Thank you to both of you. : )

Kinseeker is correct. Filer's was on the SW corner of NW 7th Avenue and 95th Street. I passed it going to North Shore Hospital. Filer's was on the left as I crossed NW 7th Avenue traveling west on 95th Street.

You could be right, kinseeker. I don't know where the NW came from but I may have a way of finding out in the future.

Wasn't Filer's on the SW corner of 7th and 95th?

In the late 1960's or early 1970's, my dear friend Al Eckhardt (1929-2005) of Allied Signs relocated his shop from NW 12th Avenue and 54th Street to a retail space in the back of Filer's. He stayed there until becoming semi-retired, moving his shop to a rear garage at his home (where he continued to work until his passing)...

A truly talented sign painted of the "old school", he's missed by many...
