Over LeJeune Road

Thanks to Brad King for supplying this image that was taken for his grandfather because he wanted a photo of his neighborhood. The new Airport Expressway is visible, along with the Miami River Canal, Okeechobee Road, the water tower at the northeast corner of Miami International Airport, the Triangle area bounded by South Royal Poinciana Drive, LeJeune Road, and NW 36 Street, etc.

Does anybody out there remember the Royal Poinciana Hotel ?
It was right there at LeJuene Road and Royal Poinciana Blvd.
I am pretty sure that what the U shaped buildings are along the river there.
I can remember the swimming pool they had was right along side of the river.
On the opposite corner was a Winn Dixie grocery store.
And along LeJuene Road and NW 36th Street was a Howard Johnson's resturant.
I could go on and on about what once was just in this little vicinity.
Many changes have taken place since this photo was shot.
