Miami, Florida

From the state archives description: Miss Hialeah, President of Seaboard Air Line Railway Company S. Davies Warfield, Miss Miami Marcia Hand, Governor John W. Martin, ?, ?, Coral Gables Mayor "Doc" Dammers.

They got the name for Miss Miami and not that beautiful Miss Hialeah?

It was the 1935 Hurricane that tore up the tracks to Key West...It was almost as severe at the 1926 storm. There was a place nearby called The Shrimp Place. My parents liked to go there because meals were very inexpensive.

My Dad arrived in Miami a few years before I was born in there in 1924.
He told me he rode the train from Miami to Key West before a hurricane tore up the tracks/bridges.
