Looking due north-north-west just east of the Florida Turnpike. The Turnpike Extension to Homestead was only a year old. The land now occupied by the Dolphin Stadium was still undeveloped. Calder Race Track is visible just south of the Turnpike. Miramar and North Perry Airport are over the county line. Development west of University Drive is scarce. There was a golf course east of the Turnpike and the Calder property where the Homestead Extension starts.
