My family (Holstein) lived on the dairy farm from 1947 to 1950. We experienced the hurricane and flood of '47 on the farm. My brothers and I enjoyed many a day eating out of the nearly empty ice cream cartons left over from the dairy bar. we also enjoyed the annual Christmas party that was provided at Dick and Jerry Dressel's large home on the dairy. Many happy memories.
Yes Kevin, it was that great place that you remember. If you are on Facebook, go to the MiamiSprings Memories page and there is a great video of the place and the rides on there that was posted on November 15th. The group name does not have a space between "Miami" and "Springs" - just type it together and it will appear in the search results.
Is Dressel's the same place that had the petting zoo and you could buy the little cups of ice cream with those little wooden spoons ? God I miss that place. Was born in 1960 and went there a bunch of times as kid.

I worked behind the ice cream counter at Dressel's dairy part -time around 1960 while I was in high school. My father worked there also. I believe he was Asst. Office Mgr or Head Cashier at the time. He transferred to McArthur Dairy when the sale took place; and I went to work there later in the addressograph department. Dressels had the best ice cream I have ever had; and until this day; I have never had that good ice cream again.
