My mother sang in the church choir in the early 1950's. Fond memories attending church there as a child.

Rev. Jose F. Martinez my father was a pastor here for the Hispanic Ministries in the early 1970s. He also has the key to the City of Miami on June 2, 1972 by then Mayor David Kennedy.

My parents were married in this church on July 28th, 1949. According to the records I have found, the reverends name was Loren Dunton. I have black and white pictures.

My grandparents, Guy and Betty Chambless, and father, Bob Chambless belonged to this church in the 1940s and 50s...maybe earlier. I remember attending services on childhood visits to Miami in the 50s and 60s. I would like to know the name of the pastor(s) in the 1940. My father just called him "Preacher", and he was a big influence in my father's becoming a Disciples of Christ minister.

When my family first moved to. Miami in August, 1957, we lived right around the corner from this church, on NE 26th street. We would catch a public bus (for a nickel with student photo ID) at the corner to take us north on Biscayne Blvd until we got off and walked west a few blocks the rest of the way to Robert E. Lee Jr High (no longer there). My cousin, who attended Jackson High, stayed on the bus up to 36th street. We visited this church a couple of times that school year and then my family moved to Tampa.

My maternal grandfather, Rev. Charles Burns, preached here on several occasions in the 1950's.

About 1957 I attend Boy Scouts in this church. My family attended First Christian Church downtown on NE 4th street. The minister here in the 50s was Rev. Packard.
