On Friday, June 10, 2011, MIA celebrated the inaugural flight of Lufthansa's A380 by having a restored American Airlines (Flagship Detroit Foundation) DC-3 and the Historical Flight Foundation's restored Eastern Air Lines DC-7B N836D fly in a few minutes in advance of the A380. All three aircraft then parked adjacent to each other on the end of Concourse J for most of the day.
