I cannot think of anyone who influences my pictures more than my husband, Scott Browne, who seems to “get” this thing called photography, and my good friend Bob Floyd who has been a photographer since I knew him in college. My husband has taught me how to use his old camera. I’ve learned some about lighting (including that taking pictures of lights is really hard). I’ve learned about aperture and shutter speed and what causes red eye. From Bob, I’ve learned about the rule of thirds, minimalism, and negative space. They’ve both tried to teach me PhotoShop, but I keep going back to Paint Shop Pro because it is more user-friendly.
Despite scrapbooking for many years, I’ve never claimed to be a photographer. But it is thanks to my husband and Bob that my percentage of decent pictures has increased over the past year.
And, so I present a picture of my husband taking his photo of the day of a photography book that was given to him by Bob. This photo is dedicated to you guys.
