Daybreak in the kiln

Just after dawn a Pakistani Pashtun boy leads two horses carrying a heavy load of bricks to be fired in the kiln. Child labour is common in brick kilns in South Asia. Horses and donkeys also suffer. Peshawar alone has approximately 450 brick kilns. Photo taken on February 27, 2008 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

What an amazing photo! These horses carring the bricks, such heavy load. I saw the small brick yards in Egypt, but never horses doing this work.
Love the power lines in the background! , the child, the kettle in front right!!
