Just after dawn three Pakistani Pashtun men are at work with two horses stacking bricks to be fired in a kiln. In the background is another horse and two other men. Poverty and child labour is pervasive among workers in brick kilns in South Asia. Horses and donkeys also suffer badly. Peshawar alone has approximately 450 brick kilns.
