On the river Dove in the peak district. About 4 miles north of Dovedale lies Milldale with its pack horse bridge dating back over 350 years. Milldale takes its name from the mill that was situated immediately upstream of the bridge. In ruins over 100 years ago and now gone; only the millstone marks the spot where it once stood.
