Manifold Valley Then and Now

Having come across some old photos of the Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway I thought it might be interesting to see how some of the scenes looked today over 70 years later.
The railway was opened in 1904 and closed in 1934, so 2004 is a both a 100th and a 70th anniversary.
OK so it needs more work :-) I think this will be an on-going project.

btw im from the area where most of these photos on this website are taken, and although i have been to most of them before, its good to see places so local that i havent visited before. also i passed through/visited, the tissington ford, throwley hall, tissington, ashbourne and alton yesterday! how ironic! anyway, keep posting these awesome pictures! x
