The canal town Wuzhen is known as Venice of the East. In fact, photographing the water towns near Shanghai was my reason for taking this tour as my first trip to China. My itinerary only covered the West Gate of Wuzhen, for the East Gate was more commercial. Staying here one night offered me the opportunity to see this poetic town and the activities on the canals in the afternoon, evening as well as in the morning.
I was just in Wuzhen and enjoyed walking in thid 1000 year old city. Yes, the night scenes were especially nice. Thanks, Densie for sharing.

Denise, for me, this is one of the most appreciated series of pix you made. Wuzhen is exactly what I thought China should look like, the richness in the olden traditional architecture is not only a poetic view, but also a wonderful culture to be kept. I like all your photos of Wuzhen, they are very well taken and composed. Well done !
