After the tour of Huangshan, Shanghai and the canal towns, I flew to Beijing to visit the capital and the Great Wall. Once I got off the plane, what greeted me was the greyish-yellow smog. I was stunned because the sky was supposed to be clear in October. I waited till 7 p.m. to book a private tour for the next day, not knowing if my money would be all wasted.
The first place on the itinerary was the main attraction of Beijing - the Forbidden City. The sky was not clear, but not as bad as the day before. I was just excited to be inside the Forbidden City. However, the sun came out when I was at the Summer Palace.

My Photoshop knowledge is limited, but I tried my best to "lift" the fog or smog to show you what I saw in Beijing and on the Great Wall.
My very sincere thanks to my friends Chaan and Carmen who showed me the Great Wall and some districts in Beijing.
On my way to the airport, the heavy smog all came back. The taxi driver told me the following day would be even worse. I should be THANKFUL that I got these pictures.
