In early July 2012, Balear Jet was introduced onto the Ibiza-Formentera Route - almost certainly diverted from her usual Mallorca-Menorca route as a replacement for the ill-fated Maverick Dos during the high season.
Chartered from Interisles, she returned to Mallorca at the end of September 2012.
Currently registered in Limassol, Cyprus, Balear Jet was built by AA Marine Brodrene - Hyen, Norway in 1989 and was originally named San Pietro, operating between Germany and Denmark, Finland and Estonia, England (Newhaven) and France.
In 1997 she was re-named Maria Dolores and operated in the Balearics for Interilles Express.
In 2002 she was re-named Sea Jet 1, operating in Malta the Adriatic Sea.
After being laid-up in Greece for a period, in 2007 she was bought by Interilles Express and later re-named Balear Jet , operating between Mallorca and Menorca.
