Bagad (pluriel : bagadoù) signifie «groupe» en Breton. Les premiers bagadoù n’ont été créés qu’en 1947 sur le modèle des Pipe Band Ecossais.
Ils sont composés de trois pupitres : bombarde, cornemuse écossaise et percussions. Ils trouvent leur origine historique dans la tradition des sonneurs, populaires dans la Bretagne du XIXème siècle...
Le Bagad Kemper est l’un des tout premiers bagad de Bretagne. Seul le Bagad Cap Caval peut lui être comparé par son inventivité.
