Glad you brought this back, Rod. (Now the guy has plenty of room to complete his catch! LOL) Shu

nice action shot, Rod. as i missed all the distractions (cars, arrows and what not) in the original, i can enjoy this shot without any problem. -Abstract

This is much better. I would have cropped even tighter (but, then thats me...)

My frank opinion of this is that it looked perfect without cropping out those elements! In the original image, the composition was better. Crop more and I'll doze off!!! Shu

Works much better with this crop Rod. I don't find the light pole any distraction. If anything it seems to frame the right hand side of the image and leads your eye across to the ball .

Nice shot. I am trying to understand whether the light pole adds or detracts

Thanks Cat & Ioana, Yes the arrow does add to it a little, that's why timing & framing is the key to these shots ........cough...cough:-)

Rod, I think this works much better, gets rid of (most) distractions and brings the subject closer to the viewer. Another thing - I didn't notice before, but the arrow on the road pointing at the kid is a nice bonus.

Didn't see the previous one, but what you have now works nicely! I don't see any distracting cars. -Cat

Does this crop work any better without the cars? I tried to clone the cars out but ended up in a real mess. As this crop was taken from a horizontal picy I just moved the crop to the right & only had to clone a small section of car.

Nice catch, Rod.

Thanks all:-) I took the missus to the sewing shop to buy some threads & had a few mins to shoot some close ups of weeds when this boy came up the road bouncing the ball. As he got past me he did an almighty kick up in the air which gave me time to focus & shoot. I only got the one shot & on the way home was telling Mereana about this great shot if it's in focus. Well unlike Mr Bresson's shots none of the other elements in the shot really work. I might try & clone the cars out but I will probably make a mess out of it. If all else fails I might just put a frame on it:-)

Rod, very expressive photo. The red ball against the sky really stands out besides the jumping boy.
Wondering if a tighter crop will further improve this...

I love this one Rod, it's got a fantastic carefree feel to it for a friday out of school after the rain. Love the wheels of the ute too but i can see how it might distract but then this is a suburban street with street lights and road markings and not a studio.

Me like. Move trucks? Me love. (Me not know why me talk like this! - Rod do weird things to me brain!) ~ Lonnit

I like the color saturation and mid-air capture. The red elements seem to be in the right place (lucky you). Very well done! Shu

Cool! I like the carefree feeling of this one. Also, the red shoes, red backpack and red ball alligned vertically make the subject and the action stand out from the background.

Thanks for commenting:-)

What's the problem if the comments do disappear aammmm? It takes a lot longer to get a photo than it does to make a little comment. It would seem that everything is ego driven these days & the words must be immortalised along with the photo in cyber space, is it mate?
