Ripken (renamed to Kodiak, Kodi for short)

We weren't actively looking for another dog after our recent losses of Jasper and Meadow, but sometimes
opportunities present themselves and you have to act on them. A coworker and friend had a friend, who
unfortunately went through some family issues and decided he should find a home where the dog would get
more attention. His job required him to work long hours and the dog was crated for that time. I commend
him for being so caring. So we met the dog last night and he's a doll. The owner asked if we could possibly
take him before the weekend, because his kids were due back and although they knew Ripken would probably be
moved, they didn't know it was imminent. Fortunately they still have an older dog that wasn't crated due to
her age and training.

So, we will try to give our new friend the best home possible. Murphy's a little jealous and protective
right now, but he'll come around!
