Beewolf - probably Philanthus lepidus - male

I.D. thanks to Eric Eaton. Found moving about on goldenrod flowers at the marble rock cut on
the road between Maberly and Elphin.

Ok, this is a male "beewolf," probably Philanthus lepidus. Great shot!

my husband was stung with the tiny wasp .we are from down east maine on the coast.the spots was white and red around it. i did get the stinger out.the wasps was in a nest like a hornet would build.he did spray and kill them.
